If they wanted to be High Tech they could use Windmills
September 6th, 2009Ok I just stopped laughing from reading this about 15 minutes ago, it has to be one of the most moronic statements issued since man stopped milling flour with windmills.
The set up for this is a mining company in Northern Quebec that uses electric Shovels and presumably has a mill to power was considering the option of a mini-nuclear reactor because they required 10Mw of reliable 24 hour a day power. When the Environmental Wingnuts heard about it they of course went off on the idea to the media.
Is this really to be taken seriously as a legitimate position and optional solution? Windmills are the high tech answer?
Then he goes on and I think basically endorses more hydro, something environmentalists have been opposed to for years in Quebec. These are strange days indeed.
