Thomas Friedman – Communist For Hire

September 9th, 2009

Thomas Friedman believes in his heart of hearts that communism has some advantages, like not having to deal with that pesky "Democracy" and that "We the people" nonsense that is getting in the way of his social agenda.

Read it here – New York Times Op/Ed

Friedman is simply responding to his desire to assert his will and his frustration at people who have different ideas than he does blocking his saving of us from well..us. Friedman does not lust for power (just ask him), but he is so convinced that he is right and it allows him to be qualified to make decisions for society at large and actually believes that things would be much better if they did it his way. It is a severe case of Intellectual Arrogance and is the real problem with the ideologues that make up the ranks of the progressives who are the Intellectual Left Leaning people in Academia and Media.

Worse yet he has been completely seduced by the PR Campaign from China in the areas of renewable energy and other carbon-reduced technologies. China is enlightened all right, they know that the perception of the Intellectual Elites like Friedman can influence global opinion leading into Copenhagen, they got marketing down cold. Friedman really believes that China is serious about renewables, they are not, the relatively small amount invested and the proclamations of the Party Leaders is for foreign relations, high brows like Friedman and to deflect criticism leading into the climate talks this winter.

Why is that the "Intellectuals" are always the biggest rubes in the room? Simple… play to their egos.

This has been the case since the emergence of modern political governance, so it should not be surprising that intellectual arrogance leads to the love-affair of communism and socialism through totalitarian regimes as a preferable way of forcing society (read people) into complying with your personal social agenda.

Friedman as all far left leaning economists has a Nobel, successful books and huge lecture fees, you know all the trappings and wealth he can amass as a member of a free market society and can afford to opine about how perfect a world would be if people just did as he said, for their own good. He really is the best Communist for Hire at the New York Times.
